MORATA is a not-for-profit group incorporated to promote outdoor recreation in Mackenzie and the surrounding area.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build a strong outdoor recreation culture that supports community health, strengthens a vibrant tourism sector, and enhances the overall quality of life in Mackenzie, BC.

Since 2016, MORATA has worked with local groups, government partners, and community members to expand access to high-quality outdoor experiences by developing both single-use and multi-use trails, building supportive recreation infrastructure, hosting community events, and promoting biking, hiking, backcountry skiing, climbing, and other non-motorized outdoor activities.

We are committed to inclusive development that considers the needs of diverse user groups and delivers meaningful, community-focused outcomes that maximize benefits for the entire region.
